Wee Talkers offers a NEW on-line class for parents of babies!
Ideal for children ages birth-15 months
The foundation for language development (including learning how to read) are beginning in the crucial early years of a child’s life.
In this on-line class, you’ll learn the information that I wish every client who comes to see me later in their life had right from the start.
Not all speech and language problems are preventable, but there are many things parents can do to help their child get off on the right start… in a fun & supportive way!
This is an on-line class you can watch from anywhere on a computer, phone, or tablet.
This course is for you if:
You know it’s valuable to talk, sing, read, and play but you’re wanting more ideas for songs/rhymes, what to say, and tips for reading and playing with your baby
You might not be able to get out of the house yet or don’t have parent groups in your area, but you’d love to participate in learning ways to support your child’s language development
You’re tired of singing “twinkle, twinkle little star” over and over (and over!)
You want to learn things do with your baby and young to build strong language skills from the start, while also bonding and connecting with your baby
What others are saying:
“I didn’t know any of the songs Carly taught in the course, and I loved it learning new ones as even I was getting bored of the same old “patty cake” and “round and round the garden”. I am not very musically talented. I really have to plan it out, so it was great having this many songs at my disposal to interact more with the baby. Especially since he’s the second kid and life is just busier! This course is an amazing resource.”
-Allyssa, mother of a 9 month old and 3.5 year old
“I found the tips for what to say to babies helpful! I am one of those who struggles with this. I would definitely recommend this course to other moms, especially for the songs and conversation tips! We've been singing the toaster song, and I pause at the end and she 'jumps' and it's so cute!”
-Crystal, mother of a 14 month old
“I love how Carly made the information so practical and spoke as a mom. She provided anecdotes about reading less with a second child and being kind to yourself as a mom. I find that to be so important and it really resonated with me. I appreciated learning a bit of the research behind the strategies. I liked how Carly demonstrated the songs with her baby so you could see how she interacted with her. Of the 14 songs Carly taught in the class, 95% of them were new for me, which was great. I would definitely recommend this on-line course to a friend. I found signing up and using the platform incredibly easy. It was easy to follow and super informative.”
-Britney, elementary school teacher and mother of two boys
With over a decade of experience as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, Carly has worked with hundreds of families supporting their child in developing strong communication skills. Children with strong language skills do better in school. I advocate for the importance quality of early learning experiences for young children, and this starts with babies!
Carly often teaches at mom and baby groups in Vancouver and that is what inspired this on-line version. Not everyone can easily get out of the house, so now parents can watch from anywhere!
